Like to Join Us? If you have already qualified as a Physical Therapist in massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, beauty therapy, sports therapy or any allied subject, you may be accepted as an Associate or Full member of this professional association. You will be licensed to use the letters AIRMT or MIRMT after your name (Associate or Member of the International Register of Massage Therapists). Whether you are accepted as Associate or Member depends on your qualifications. You will be eligible for professional indemnity insurance cover with a limit of ₤2.5 million for a premium of from ₤55 per annum, depending on therapies covered. You will be eligible for inclusion on our list of Practitioners, which is e-mailed to patients seeking therapy treatment. It could help you to build up a base of regular patients. If we are unable to admit you as a member of our professional association, fees paid will be refunded in full. After membership is accepted, subscriptions will be charged annually (one year later) at £20 for the UK and £25 for overseas members. Membership plus insurance can be obtained from ₤90, depending on cover. These fees may be increased without notice. If you are not qualified and would like to be, go to our "Need to Qualify?" page.
